शास्त्रज्ञ, कर्मचारी व मजूर यांच्या संघटित कष्टाचे यश..... कुलगुरू

वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठांतर्गत नांदेड
येथील कापूस संशोधन केंद्रास अखिल भारतीय समन्वयीत कापूस संशोधन प्रकल्पातर्फे राष्ट्रीय पातळीवरील ‘उत्कृष्ट संशोधन केंद्र’ या बहुमानाने
गौरविण्यात आले आहे. डॉ. पंजाबराव देशमुख कृषि विद्यापीठ, अकोला व केंद्रीय कापूस संशोधन संस्था, नागपूर यांनी दिनांक ५ आणि ६ एप्रिल दरम्यान आयोजित
केलेल्या अखिल भारतीय समन्वयीत कापूस संशोधन प्रकल्पाच्या वार्षिक कार्यशाळेत भारतीय कृषि संशोधन परिषदेचे उपमहासंचालक (पीके) डॉ. तिलक राज शर्मा यांच्या हस्ते
हा पुरस्कार संशोधन केंद्राच्या शास्त्रज्ञांना नागपूर येथे प्रदान करण्यात आला. भारतीय कृषि संशोधन परिषद, नवी दिल्ली
यांच्या वतीने विविध पीके, पीक समूह, लागवड व संरक्षण
तंत्रज्ञान आणि पूरक उद्योग इत्यादी बाबतीत राष्ट्रीय पातळीवर विविध समन्वयीत संशोधन
प्रकल्प राबविण्यात येतात. यापैकी कपाशीवरील अखिल भारतीय समन्वयीत कापूस संशोधन
प्रकल्प हा एक प्रमुख प्रकल्प आहे. कपाशीच्या प्रकल्पांतर्गत देशभरामध्ये एकूण २२
प्रमुख संशोधन केंद्र व १० उपकेंद्र कार्यरत आहेत. या प्रकल्पातर्फे यावर्षी पासून
प्रथमच उत्कृष्ट संशोधन केंद्राचा पुरस्कार सुरू करण्यात आला असून पहिलाच पुरस्कार
वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठ, परभणी अंतर्गत
कार्यरत कापूस संशोधन केंद्राने पटकाविला आहे.
या बाबत मा. कुलगुरू प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि यांनी
दिनांक ०८ एप्रिल रोजी कापूस संशोधन केंद्रास अवर्जून भेट दिली. यावेळी मा. कुलगुरू
म्हणाले की, उत्कृष्ट संशोधन केंद्राचा राष्ट्रीय स्तरावरील पुरस्कार मिळणे ही
आनंदाची बाब तर आहेच, शिवाय कापूस संशोधनामध्ये उत्कृष्ट संशोधन केंद्रासाठी
यावर्षापासून दिला गेलेला पहिलाच पुरस्कार वसंतराव नाईक कृषि विद्यापीठास मिळाला
ही एक विद्यापीठाच्या कार्यासाठी गौवरशाली आणि स्फूर्तीदायक बाब आहे. हा पुरस्कार संशोधन
केंद्राचे शास्त्रज्ञ, कर्मचारी व मजूर
यांचे संघटित व दीर्घकालीन कष्टाचे यश असल्याबद्दल त्यांनी संशोधन केंद्राचे
प्रमुख डॉ. खिजर वेग, शास्त्रज्ञ, कर्मचारी व मजूर यांचे अभिनंदन केले तसेच विद्यमान
पातळीपेक्षा अधिक काम करण्याची आवश्यकता असून भविष्यामध्ये शेतकरीभिमुख संशोधन
करावे, आणि केंद्रामध्ये विविध प्रकल्पांतर्गत प्रयोगशाळा उभारणी करून
जैवतंत्रज्ञानयुक्त वाणांची निर्मिती, जैविक बुरशीनाशके व मित्रकिडींचे उत्पादन करून शेतकर्‍यांना
उपलब्ध करावे ज्यामुळे कपाशीसारख्या नगदी पीकामध्ये किफायतशीर उत्पन्न मिळणे शक्य
होईल असे त्यांनी नमूद केले.
नांदेड येथील कापूस संशोधन केंद्र कपाशीचे राज्यातील
प्रमुख संशोधन केंद्र असून मागील ८३ वर्षांपासून कापूस संशोधांनामध्ये कार्यरत
आहे. या संशोधन केंद्रातर्फे आजवर देशी व अमेरिकन कपाशीचे
एकूण २९ सरळ तथा संकरीत वाण प्रसारित केले असून एनएचएच ४४ (नांदेड ४४) हा त्यापैकी
एक प्रमुख वाण आहे. याचबरोबर पीक लागवड व संरक्षण विषयी शेतकर्‍यांच्या गरजेनुसार
अनेक शिफारशी वेळोवेळी दिल्या आहेत. शेतकर्‍यांनी बीटी कापूस लागवड सुरुवात
केल्यापासून त्याचे अधिक उत्पादन मिळण्यासाठी आवश्यक लागवड तंत्रज्ञान राज्यातील
शेतकर्‍यांना सर्वप्रथम या संशोधन केंद्राद्वारे शिफारस करण्यात आले होते.
सदरील पुरस्कार निवडतांना देशातील कपाशीच्या सर्व
संशोधन केंद्रांचे मागील दोन वर्षांतील कार्य पाहून पुरस्कारासाठी निवड करण्यात
आली. यामध्ये सन २०२२-२३ व २०२३-२४ हंगामामध्ये या संशोधन केंद्राद्वारे बीटी
कपाशीचे तीन सरळ वाण (एनएच १९०१ बीटी, एनएच १९०२ बीटी व
एनएच १९०४ बीटी), एक अमेरिकन वाण (एनएच ६७७) व दोन देशी (गावराण) सरळ
वाण (पीए ८३७ व पीए ८३३) असे एकूण सात वाण प्रसारीत केले आहेत. त्याचबरोबर पीक
लागवडीसंदर्भात कोरडवाहूसाठी ओलावा संचयन, हवामान बदलामध्ये
लागवडीचे अंतर, सेंद्रीय शेतीमध्ये अन्नद्रव्य व्यवस्थापन इत्यादीबाबतीत चार शिफारशी दिल्या आहेत. याशिवाय
राष्ट्रीय प्रयोगांमध्ये प्राधिकृत वाणांची संख्या, शोध निबंध, कृषिविस्तार, प्रात्यक्षिके व
प्रशिक्षणांचे आयोजन इत्यादी बाबतीत सरस काम आढळून आल्यामुळे कपाशीचे ‘उत्कृष्ट संशोधन केंद्र’ हा पुरस्कार
नांदेड येथील संशोधन केंद्रास देण्यात आला आहे.
संशोधन केंद्राच्या कामाकाजासाठी मा. कुलगुरू प्रा. (डॉ.)
इन्द्र मणि यांच्या निरंतर मार्गदर्शनामुळे व माजी संशोधन संचालक संशोधन डॉ.
दत्तप्रसाद वासकर व डॉ. जगदीश जहागीरदार, विद्यापीठ प्रशासन आणि
विद्यापीठातील अन्य केंद्राच्या प्रभारी अधिकारी व कर्मचार्‍याकडून सहयोगामुळेच
प्राप्त झाला असून त्याबद्दल संशोधन केंद्राचे प्रमुख डॉ. खिजर बेग यांनी आभार
व्यक्त केले. तसेच हा पुरस्कार मिळण्यासाठी संशोधन केंद्रातील सर्व शास्त्रज्ञ, कर्मचारी व मजूर या सर्वांचे परिश्रमामुळेच हा पुरस्कार
मिळाला असल्याचे मत त्यांनी प्रगट केले.
The Cotton Research
Center, Nanded (MS) has been honored as the 'Outstanding Research Center' by
the All India Coordinated Cotton Improvement Project. Dr. Tilak Raj Sharma,
Deputy Director General (Crops) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research
presented the award to the scientists of the research station during Annual
Group Meeting of All India Coordinated Research Project on Cotton (AICRP) at
Central Institute for Cotton Research, Nagpur on 6th April, 2024. Various coordinated research projects are carried out at
the national level on various crops, groups of crops, cultivation and
protection technologies or Agro based business etc. by Indian Council of
Agricultural Research, New Delhi (ICAR). The
All India Coordinated Research Project on Cotton is a major project among these
ICAR run projects. A total of 22 major research centers and 10 sub-centers are
functioning under the AICRP on Cotton in the country. For the first time, AICRP
on Cotton has started an award for the best research center from this year and
the first award has been won by Cotton Research Station, Nanded working under
Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani. Cotton Research Station
at Nanded is the premier center for cotton crop research in the state and has
been engaged in research of cotton for the past 83 years. A total of 29
straight and hybrid varieties of desi (G. arboreum cotton) and
American cotton have been released by this research station so far and NHH 44
(Nanded 44) is one of the popular hybrids. Along with this, many
recommendations regarding crop production and protection as per the needs of
farmers have been given time to time. This research station was the first to recommend
necessary cultivation technology of Bt cotton to the farmers of the
state to get higher yields since the farmers started cultivating it.
Work done in the last
two years at all the cotton research centers in the country were considered
while selecting for the said award. In this, three straight varieties of Bt
cotton (NH 1901 Bt, NH 1902 Bt and NH 1904 Bt), one
American variety (NH 677) and two Desi (Gavran) straight varieties (PA
837 and PA 833), thus a total of seven varieties have been were released by
this research station during the seasons 2022-23 and 2023-24. Also, four
recommendations have been given regarding crop cultivation, moisture
conservation for dryland, planting spacing in changing climatic conditions and
nutrient management in organic farming, etc. Apart from this, excellent work
done in terms of number of sponsored entries for national trials, research
papers, agricultural extension activities, organization of demonstrations and
training etc were considered for considering CRS, Nanded for the said award.
Dr. K. S. Baig, the
Incharge of CRS Nanded expressed thanks to Prof. Dr. Indra Mani, Hon’ble Vice
Chancellor of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani for continuous
guidance, unwavering encouragement and support and to Former Directors of
Research Dr. Dattaprasad Waskar and Dr. J. E. Jahagirdar as well as other
directors and all the faculty of university for the assistance in the research
activities. He credited this award to the hard work of all the scientists,
employees and labourers of the research station. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of
VNMKV, Parbhani Prof. Dr. Indra Mani congratulated all the scientists of the
research station during his visit to CRS Nanded and wished to work more hard to
elevate the standard set here before. He expressed happiness that VNMKV has
already grabbed best research centre award in Pearl millet, Sunflower and
Safflower research and now Cotton is the new crop added in the list of eminence
at national level.
