ग्रंथालये म्हणजे केवळ माहितीचे भांडार नाहीत, ती ज्ञाननिर्मिती व नवाचाराची केंद्रे आहेत : माननीय कुलगुरू प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि

 

हिसार (हरियाणा) येथील चौधरी चरणसिंह हरियाणा कृषि विद्यापीठातील नेहरू ग्रंथालय आणि असोसिएशन ऑफ सीनियर लायब्ररी अँड इन्फॉर्मेशन प्रोफेशनल (एएसएलआयपी) यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने आयोजित ‘कॉन्क्लेव्ह २०२५’ या दोन दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय परिषदेचे उद्घाटन वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठ, परभणीचे माननीय कुलगुरू प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि यांच्या शुभहस्ते दिनांक ८ जानेवारी २०२५ रोजी झाले.

“सहकार्यात्मक बुद्धिमत्ता : एकत्रितपणे अधिक स्मार्ट ग्रंथालयांची उभारणी” (Collaborative Intelligence: Building Smarter Libraries Together) या विषयावर ही परिषद आयोजित करण्यात आली होती.

यावेळी बोलताना माननीय कुलगुरू प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि यांनी ग्रंथालयांची भूमिका स्पष्ट करताना सांगितले की, ग्रंथालये आज केवळ माहिती साठवणारी स्थळे न राहता ती ज्ञाननिर्मिती, संशोधन, नवाचार आणि सहकार्याची केंद्रे बनली आहेत. पुढे त्यांनी विद्या, धन आणि शक्ती यांचा सकारात्मक वापर समाजहितासाठी व्हायला हवा, असे प्रतिपादन केले. माणूस नावाने नव्हे तर कामाने ओळखला जातो. विद्या ही नम्रता शिकवते; नम्रता नसेल तर माणूस विद्वान असू शकतो, पण विद्यावान नसतो, असे त्यांनी सांगितले.

या परिषदेत देशभरातील सुमारे २०० हून अधिक विद्यापीठे, महाविद्यालये व संस्था सहभागी झाल्या होत्या. ग्रंथालय व माहितीशास्त्रातील तज्ज्ञ, संशोधक, विद्यार्थी तसेच आयटी आणि उद्योग क्षेत्रातील प्रतिनिधी मोठ्या संख्येने उपस्थित होते.

कार्यक्रमाच्या अध्यक्षस्थानी एएसएलआयपीचे अध्यक्ष डॉ. आर. पी. कुमार होते. मुख्य वक्ते डॉ. सुखदेव सिंह यांनी मुद्रित माध्यम, डिजिटल माध्यम, डेटा अ‍ॅनालिटिक्स, कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता (AI) आणि मानवी बुद्धिमत्ता (Human Intelligence) यांच्या संदर्भात ग्रंथालयांचे बदलते स्वरूप विशद केले.

या प्रसंगी परिषदेत पुस्तक प्रकाशन, तांत्रिक सत्रे, चर्चासत्रे व अनुभव सादरीकरणाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. या राष्ट्रीय परिषदेने भारतातील ग्रंथालय चळवळीला नवी दिशा देत ‘स्मार्ट लायब्ररीज’ या संकल्पनेला बळ दिले.

 

 

“Libraries are not merely repositories of information; they are centers of knowledge creation and innovation,” said Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani.

 

The two-day national conference “Conclave 2025”, jointly organised by the Nehru Library of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar (Haryana) and the Association of Senior Library and Information Professionals (ASLIP), was inaugurated on 8 January 2025 by the Hon,ble Vice-Chancellor of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani, Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani.

The conference was organised on the theme “Collaborative Intelligence: Building Smarter Libraries Together.”

While speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani, while explaining the role of libraries, stated that libraries today are no longer merely places for storing information; rather, they have become centers of knowledge creation, research, innovation, and collaboration. He further emphasized that knowledge, wealth, and power should be used positively for the welfare of society. A person is known not by name but by work. Knowledge teaches humility; without humility a person may be learned, but not truly wise, he said.

About 200 universities, colleges, and institutions from across the country participated in the conference. Experts in library and information science, researchers, students, as well as representatives from the IT and industrial sectors were present in large numbers.

The conference was presided over by Dr. R. P. Kumar, President of ASLIP. The keynote speaker, Dr. Sukhdev Singh, elaborated on the changing nature of libraries in the context of print media, digital media, data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and human intelligence.

On this occasion, the conference featured book releases, technical sessions, panel discussions, and experience-sharing sessions. This national conference provided new direction to the library movement in India and strengthened the concept of “Smart Libraries.”
