हवामान बदलाचा मोठा परिणाम शेती क्षेत्रावर होत असुन शाश्‍वत
शेतीकरीता संशोधनात भर दयावा लागेल. कधी - अधिक पर्यन्‍य, पावसातील खंड, वाढणारे तापमान, अतिवृष्‍टी तर कधी दुष्‍काळ
आदी परिस्थितीत शाश्‍वत उत्‍पादन देणारे वाण, तंत्रज्ञान निर्मिती करण्‍याची
गरज आहे. शेतीत जास्‍तीत जास्‍त रासायनिक खते, निविष्‍ठांचा वापर करून जास्‍तीत
जास्‍त उत्‍पादन घेण्‍यापेक्षा निविष्‍ठांचा कार्यक्षम वापर करून शाश्‍वत उत्‍पादन
प्राप्‍त करणे हे आपले लक्ष असले पाहिजे, असे प्रतिपादन कुलगुरू मा डॉ इन्‍द्र मणि यांनी केले.
वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठात भारत सरकाराच्‍या
विज्ञान आणि तंत्रज्ञान विभाग पुरस्‍कृत ‘हवामान बदलाच्‍या पार्श्‍वभुमी
शाश्‍वत शेती करिता संशोधनाच्‍या बाबी’ याविषयावर दोन दिवसीय विचारमंथन कार्यशाळेचे आयोजन दिनांक
७ व ८ ऑगस्‍ट रोजी करण्‍यात आले असुन दिनांक ७ ऑगस्‍ट रोजी कार्यशाळेच्‍या उदघाटन प्रसंगी

माजी कुलगुरू मा डॉ ए आर पाठक म्‍हणाले की, परभणी कृषि विद्यापीठाचे
तुर, ज्‍चारी पिकांचे चांगले वाण
महाराष्‍ट्राबाहेर अनेक राज्‍यात प्रचलित आहेत. जागतिक पातळीवर भारत अन्‍नधान्‍य, दुध, फळ पिके इत्‍यादीच्‍या उत्‍पादनात
आघाडीवर आहे, परंतु जीवनशैली व पौष्टिक अन्‍नाच्‍या कमतरतामुळे अनेक व्‍याधीस मानवास सामोरे
जावे लागत आहे. शेती क्षेत्रातुन मोठया प्रमाणात हरित वायुचे उत्‍सर्जन होत असुन याचे
प्रमाण कमी करण्‍याकरिता संशोधनावर भर दयावा लागेल.
माजी कुलगुरू मा डॉ व्‍ही एम मायंदे म्‍हणाले की, मानवाचे आरोग्‍य हे आहारावर
आधारीत असुन आहार हे पौष्टिक अन्‍नधान्‍य उपलब्‍धतेवर उपलब्‍ध आहे, त्‍यामुळे शेती क्षेत्र अत्‍यंत
महत्‍वाचे आहे. अन्‍न सुरक्षासह स्‍वास्‍थवर्धक अन्‍न सुरक्षावर भर दयावा लागेल. माजी
कुलगुरू मा डॉ के पी गोरे म्‍हणाले की, दिवसेंदिवस माती व पाणी यांचा -हास होत असुन मृदा संवर्धन
व जल संवर्धन यावर संशोधनात प्राधान्‍य दयावा लागेल.
शास्‍त्रज्ञ डॉ अखिलेश मिश्रा यांनी भारत सरकारच्‍या विज्ञान
व तंत्रज्ञान विभाग देशातील दर्जेदार संशोधनाकरिता निधी उपलब्‍ध केला जातो, त्‍याकरिता चांगल्‍या संशोधन
प्रस्‍ताव तयार करून सादर करण्‍याबाबत मार्गदर्शन केले.
कार्यक्रमाच्‍या प्रास्‍ताविकात आयोजन सचिव डॉ उदय खोडके कार्यशाळेच्‍या आयोजनाची माहिती दिली. सुत्रसंचालन डॉ सुनिता पवार व प्रा प्रितम भुतडा यांनी केले तर आभार डॉ सय्यद ईस्‍माईल यांनी मानले. दोन दिवस चालणा-या कार्यशाळेत देशातील विविध नामांकित संशोधन संस्‍थेतील तज्ञ मार्गदर्शन करणार असुन हवामान बदलांच्‍या पार्श्‍वभुमीवर कोणत्‍या बाबींवर कृषि संशोधनाची गरज आहे, यावर विचारमंथन होणार आहे. कार्यशाळेतील विचारमंथनाव्‍दारे विद्यापीठाच्‍या संशोधनाची दिशा निश्चित करण्‍यास मदत होणार असुन शास्‍त्रज्ञांना संशोधन विषय निश्चित करण्‍याकरिता मार्गदर्शक ठरणार आहे. संशोधन प्रकल्‍प तयार करून विविध निधी देणा-या शासकीय व खाजगी संस्‍थेकडुन निधी प्राप्‍त करणे, शासकिय संस्‍था, खाजगी कंपन्‍या, शैक्षणिक संस्‍था आदींच्‍या एकत्रित सहभागातुन संशोधन याबाबत मार्गदर्शन करण्‍यात येणार आहे. कार्यशाळेत परभणीसह राहुरी, अकोला, दापोली कृषी विद्यापीठातील कृषि शास्‍त्रज्ञ, प्राध्‍यापक, परिसरातील प्रगतशील शेतकरी, शेती क्षेत्राशी निगडीत खाजगी कंपन्‍यातील अधिकारी सहभागी झाले आहेत.
DST sponsored Two-Day Brainstorming Session held at VNMKV, Parbhani
Dept. of Science and Technology sponsored two-day Brainstorming Workshop on "Researchable Issues for Sustainable Agriculture under Climate Change Scenario” was organised at Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani during on 7th and 8th August. The experts from the various national institutes, research stations, agro-based industries, progressive farmers and students were participated in the workshop.
The workshop was designed to capture the thoughts and ideas about researchable issues for sustainable agriculture under climate change situation from the experts. The workshop was inaugurated on 7th August under the chairmanship of Dr. Indra Mani, Vice Chancellor, VNMKV, Parbhani. Dr.A.R.Pathak, former VC, Junagadh Agricultural University & Chairman, ICAR- NASF; Dr.V.M.Mayande, Former VC, Dr. PDKV, Akola; Dr. K.P.Gore, Former VC, VNMKV, Parbhani; Dr.J.S.Panwar, Former Head, Div. of Agril. Engg., IARI, New Delhi; Dr.Jitendra Kumar, ADG, ICAR – NASF, Dr.Akhilesh Mishra, Scientists, DST, New Delhi; Dr.K.N.Tiwar, IIT Kharagpur; Dr.R.D.Rai, Former Head Dept. of Biochemistry, IARI, New Delhi; Dr. Syed Ismail, Director, SIFA Sanpra System, Dr D.N. Gokhale, Director of Instruction, Dr D.P. Waskar, Director of Research, Dr D.B. Devsarkar, Director of Education Extension, Organizing Secretary Dr.U.N.Khodke were present on the dais.
Technical Sessions of the workshop discussed the various issues related to Identifying researchable areas for addressing region specific and national issues concerning agriculture, Funding opportunity and guidelines including DST for writing, Wining research proposals, Academia-Industry-Government (AIG) collaborations for developing innovative solutions and marketable technology, Roadmap for patenting and commercialization of technologies. In the workshop, International Experts from USA guided the PG and Ph.D. students regarding abroad educational opportunities in special online session.
In his presidential speech Dr. Indra Mani said that agricultural productivity is under threat due to climate change. Various climate-driven extremes, i.e., drought, heat waves, erratic and intense rainfall patterns, storms, floods, and emerging insect pests have adversely affected the livelihood of the farmers. Future climatic predictions showed a significant increase in temperature, and erratic rainfall with higher intensity while variability exists in climatic patterns for climate extremes prediction. There is need to develop climate resilient technologies through research. It is essential to focus on sustainable and optimum production of crops by efficient use of inputs instead of maximum production by higher inputs use.
Former VC Dr A.R. Pathak said that good varieties of sorghum and pigeonpea crops developed by VNMKV are very popular in many states outside Maharashtra. Globally, India is leading in the production of foodgrains, milk, fruit crops, but due to lifestyle and lack of nutritious food, many people are facing health problems. A large amount of greenhouse gases is emitted from the agricultural sector and research needs to be emphasized to reduce this greenhouse gases.
Former VC Dr. V.M. Mayande said that human health is based on diet and diet come from the agriculture, therefore the agriculture sector is very important. Emphasis should be placed on nutritional security along with food security. Former VC Dr KP Gore said that soil and water are getting degraded day by day and priority should be given in research on soil conservation and water conservation.
Scientist Dr. Akhilesh Mishra guided the gathering about research funding scheme of Department of Science and Technology, which provides funding for quality research in the country. He guided in details about the preparation and submission of winning research proposals.
The workshop concluded with the realization that research will play a vital role in addressing the challenges posed by changing climate conditions to ensure sustainable agricultural practices and food security. The experts discussed a multidisciplinary approach involving academia, government agencies, private companies, and research institutions to guide and fund research projects in this crucial area.
Dignitaries from various agricultural universities and research institutions attended the event, highlighting the significance of natural resources, soil and water conservation for sustainable agriculture. They stressed the need for research and funding to achieve food security and enhance the nutritional value of crops. Collaborative efforts involving governmental and private organizations are crucial for guiding research in this direction.
