वनामकृवित नांदेड-४४ बीटी (बीजी-२) वाणाचा
लोकार्पण सोहळा संपन्‍न
वनामकृविचा लोकप्रिय कपाशीचा संकरीत वाण नांदेड-४४ हा
देशातील सार्वजनिक क्षेत्रातील बीटी स्‍वरूपातील पहिला वाण ठरला असल्‍याचे प्रतिपादन
कुलगुरू मा डॉ अशोक ढवण यांनी केले. वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठ व
महाराष्‍ट्र राज्‍य बियाणे महामंडळ मर्यादीत (महाबीज), अकोला यांच्‍या
संयुक्‍त विद्यामाने दिनांक १५ जुन रोजी नांदेड-४४ बीटी (बीजी
२) वाणाचा लोकार्पण सोहळा संपन्‍न झाला, त्‍याप्रसंगी ते
बोलत होते. व्‍यासपीठावर संशोधन संचालक डॉ दत्‍तप्रसाद वासकर, महाबीजचे महाव्‍यवस्‍थापक
(उत्‍पादन) श्री सुरेश फुंडकर, महाबीजचे
महाव्‍यवस्‍थापक (विपणन) श्री प्रकाश टाटर, विभागीय व्‍यवस्‍थापक श्री सुरेश गायकवाड, कापुस विशेषतज्ञ डॉ खिजर बेग
आदींची प्रमुख उपस्थिती होती.
कुलगुरू मा डॉ अशोक ढवण पुढे म्‍हणाले की, अनेक दिवसापासुन कपाशीच्‍या
नांदेड-४४ बीटी वाणाची शेतकरी मोठया आतुरतेने वाट पाहात होते, त्‍याचे बियाणे
शेतक-यांच्‍या हाती देतांना विद्यापीठास मोठे समाधान वाटत आहे, ही विद्यापीठ
संशोधनातील ऐतिहासिक बाब आहे. यावर्षी या बियाणांची तेविस हजार पॅकेट महाबीजकडुन मराठवाडयाकरिता उपलब्‍ध झाली आहेत. येणा-या काळात नांदेड-४४ बीटी बीजोत्‍पादनासाठी
मराठवाडयातील शेतक-यांनी पुढाकार घ्‍यावा, यासाठी लागणारे तांत्रिक पाठबळ
विद्यापीठ पुरवील. अनेक वर्ष शेतक-यांच्‍या मनात अधिराज्‍य गाजलेले नांदेड-४४ हे
वाण बीटी तंत्रज्ञानाच्‍या युगात लोप पावला होता. परंतु नांदेड-४४ हे वाण बीटी स्‍वरूपात
उपलब्‍ध झाल्‍याने त्‍यास पुर्नवैभव प्राप्‍त होईल. या वाणाच्‍या बियाणास
शेतक-यांची आजही मोठी मागणी आहे, त्‍यामुळे महाबीजला बियाणाची जाहिरात करण्‍याची
गरज नाही. बचत होणा-या जाहिरातीवरील खर्चमधुन बियाण्‍याचे दर कमी केल्‍यास
शेतक-यांना त्‍यांचा फायदा होईल. शेतक-यांनी या वाणाची लागवड करतांना एकात्मिक कीड
व्‍यवस्‍थापन तंत्रज्ञानाची जोड दयावी, त्‍यामुळे कमी खर्चात किड नियंत्रण होईल. विद्यापीठ
येवढयावरच थांबलेले नसुन लवकरच विद्यापीठ विकसित एनएचएच-७१५ व एनएचएच-२५० हे
चांगले उत्‍पादन देणारे कापसाचे वाण बीटी मध्‍ये परावर्तीत करण्‍यासाठी महाबीज
सोबत करार करण्‍यात येणार आहे. येणा-या ३ ते ४ वर्षात ही वाणेही शेतक-यांना उपलब्‍ध
होऊन कापुस बियाणे बाजारातील ४० टक्के हिस्‍सा या वाणाचा असेल अशी अपेक्षा त्यांनी
व्‍यक्‍त केली.
संशोधन संचालक डॉ दत्‍तप्रसाद वासकर आपल्‍या भाषणात म्‍हणाले
की, नांदेड-४४ वाण बीटी मध्‍ये परावर्तीत करण्‍यासाठी मार्च २०१४ मध्‍ये परभणी कृषि विद्यापीठ व महाबीज यांच्‍यात करार झाला. महाबीजचे तत्‍कालीन व्‍यवस्‍थापकीय
संचालक मा डॉ शालीग्राम वाणखेडे, माजी कुलगुरू डॉ बी व्‍यंकटेश्‍वरलु व सध्‍याच्‍या
कुलगुरू मा डॉ अशोक ढवण यांच्‍या मार्गदर्शनाखाली विद्यापीठ शास्‍त्रज्ञ व महाबीजचे
अधिकारी यांच्‍या अथक परिश्रमामुळे पाच वर्षात नांदेड-४४ बीटी मध्‍ये परावर्तीत
करण्‍यात आला. हा दिवस विद्यापीठ संशोधनातील सुवर्ण दिवस ठरला. हा वाण
पुर्नबहराची क्षमता असलेला, रसशोषण करणा-या किडीस प्रतिकारकक्षम असलेल वाण असुन कोणत्‍याही
परिस्थि‍तीत स्थिर उत्‍पादन देणार आहे. विद्यापीठ प्रक्षेत्रावर या वाणाने बागायती
मध्‍ये हेक्‍टरी ३८ क्विंटल तर कोरडवाहु मध्‍ये २३ क्विंटल उत्‍पादन दिले
आहे.
श्री सुरेश फुंडकर आपल्‍या भाषणात म्‍हणाले की, यावर्षी
मराठवाडया करिता तेविस हजार नांदेड-४४ बीटी बियाण्‍याची पॅकिटे उपलब्‍ध करण्‍यात
आली असुन पुढील वर्षी तीन लाख पॅकिटे उपलब्‍ध करण्‍याचे महाबीजचे उदिदष्‍ट आहे. या
संकरित बीटी वाणातील नर व मोदी दोन्‍ही मध्‍ये बीटीचा अंतर्भाव करण्‍यात आल्‍यामुळे
बीटी जीनचा प्रभाव इतर वाणाच्‍या तुलनेत जास्‍त दिसुन येईल. मराठवाडयात बीजोत्‍पादनाचे
लक्ष असल्‍याचेही त्यांनी सांगितले. कापुस विषेशतज्ञ डॉ खिजर बेग यांनी हा वाण पाण्‍याचा
ताण सहन करणारा असुन शेतक-यांना कापुस उत्‍पादनात स्‍थैर्यता देण्‍याची ताकत असल्‍याचे
सांगितले.
यावेळी मान्‍यवरांच्‍या हस्‍ते
नांदेड-४४ बीटी (बीजी-२) वाणाचे लोकार्पण करून निवडक शेतक-यांना पॅकेटचे वाटप करण्‍यात आले. कार्यक्रमाचे
प्रास्‍ताविक सुरेश गायकवाड यांनी केले तर सुत्रसंचालन प्रा अरविंद पडांगळे यांनी
केले. कार्यक्रमास शेतकरी, विद्यापीठ व महाबिजचे अधिकारी व कर्मचारी मोठया संख्‍येने
उपस्थित होते.
NHH 44 BG II : India's First public
sector Bt cotton hybrid launched
After
long waiting, intra hirsutum cotton hybrid 'NHH 44' is now available in
BG II version for farmers of Marathwada region. The NHH 44 released during 1984
was most popular amongst cultivators due to its higher yield potential, sucking
pest tolerance, rejuvenation, drought tolerance and yield stability. It was
having highest acreage of about 40 per cent of the total cotton growing area of
the country during 1995 to 2000. Due to introduction of GM (genetically modification)
technology in cotton and non-availability of Bt gene with public sector,
area under public sector non Bt hybrids was reduced. However, most of
the cotton hybrids from private sector which are available in the market are
showing unstability for yield across the seasons and regions, susceptible to sucking
pests and are more prone to water stress conditions. Therefore, there was great
demand from cotton growers of the region for this hybrid in Bt version due
to its wider adoptability for yield and tolerance to sucking pests.
Recently,
on 15th June, 2019 VNMKV, Parbhani and Mahabeej jointly launched
‘NHH 44 BG II’ for cotton farmers of Marathwada region for this year. The BG II
genes (Cry1Ac and Cry2Ab) were transformed into ‘BN 1’ and ‘AC 738’, the female
and male parents of the NHH 44 at Mahabeej, Akola. As both the parents are
having BG II genes, the gene expression in this hybrid is very good. Nearly 26,000
packets of this hybrid are made available to farmers of Marathwada.
On
this occasion, Dr. A. S. Dhawan, Vice-Chancellor, VNMKV, Parbhani stated that
NHH 44 BG II is first Bt cotton hybrid released by public sector in
Maharashtra. Further he added that farmers of the region were eagerly waiting
for release of this hybrid. Farmers should adopt integrated pest management strategies while cultivating this hybrid for achieving
more productivity and profitability. He also declare that shortly, University
is going to sign fresh MoU for transfer of BG II gene in newly released hybrids
viz., NHH 250 and NHH 715 with Mahabeej, Akola. He requested
Mahabeej authorities to undertake hybrid seed production program of NHH 44 into
Marathwada region for employment generation and social upliftment of the
farmers of the region.
Director
of Research Dr. D. P. Waskar stated that VNMKV and Mahabeej has developed this
GM seed through Memorandum of Understanding which was signed in 2014 and after five
years, Bt version of NHH 44 is launched for Marathwada region during kharif
2019 season. Scientists of VNMKV and Mahabeej worked hard for five years to
convert this hybrid into Bt version. The hybrid NHH 44 (BG II) is having
good stability for yield across the locations. This hybrid had given 23 and 38
quintals seed cotton yield in rainfed and irrigated trials, respectively at
university farms during Kharif, 2018-19.
Mr.
Phundkar, GM (Production) of Mahabeej stated that Mahabeej is planning for production
of nearly 3 lakh packets for the next season considering the demand of this
hybrid amongst farmers in the region as well as adjoining areas. Mahabeej is organized
large scale seed production of NHH 44 Bt (BG II) in different states for
assurance of hybrid seed production including some pockets of Marathwada. Shri
Prakash Tatar GM (Marketing) and Dr. Khizer Baig, Cotton Specialist were also
present on the occasion of launching of NHH 44 Bt in presence of cotton farmers
and university scientists.
