वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठ, परभणी आणि भारतीय कृषि विद्यापीठे संघ (इंडियन अॅग्रिकल्चरल युनिव्हर्सिटीज असोसिएशन - IAUA), नवी दिल्ली यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने भारतातील एकूण ७४ कृषि विद्यापीठांच्या समन्वयाने भारतीय कृषि विद्यापीठ संघाचा दोन दिवसीय (दिनांक २५ व २६ सप्टेंबर २०२५) १७ वा राष्ट्रीय परिसंवाद आयोजित करण्यात आला. या परिसंवादाचा ‘लघु व सीमान्त शेतकऱ्यांसाठी शेती यांत्रिकीकरण आणि कृषि रोबोटिक्स : आव्हाने आणि संधी’ (Farm Mechanization and Agricultural Robotics for Small and Marginal Farmers: Challenges and Opportunities) हा विषय आहे. या परिसंवादाचा उद्घाटन समारंभ दिनांक २५ सप्टेंबर २०२५ रोजी संपन्न झाला.
या परिसंवादाचे उद्घाटन प्रमुख पाहुण्या माननीय राज्यमंत्री सार्वजनिक
आरोग्य व कुटुंब कल्याण, पाणीपुरवठा व स्वच्छता, उर्जा, महिला व बालकल्याण, सार्वजनिक बांधकाम (सार्वजनिक
उपक्रम) तथा परभणी जिल्ह्याच्या पालकमंत्री ना. श्रीमती मेघना साकोरे-बोर्डीकर यांच्या
शुभहस्ते करण्यात आले. अध्यक्षस्थानी माननीय कुलगुरू प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि हे होते.

उद्घाटन समारंभात माननीय राज्यमंत्री तथा परभणी जिल्ह्याच्या पालकमंत्री ना.
श्रीमती मेघना साकोरे-बोर्डीकर म्हणाल्या की, मी विद्यापीठातील विद्यार्थ्याकडे प्रयोगशील
शेतकरी आणि शास्त्रज्ञ म्हणून पाहते. विद्यापीठाचाही हाच उद्देश असावा. त्या म्हणाल्या
की, आज संपूर्ण देशात वातावरणातील बदलांचे परिणाम जाणवत आहेत.
अतिवृष्टीमुळे पिकांचे मोठे नुकसान होत आहे. या समस्येवर उपाय शोधण्यासाठी अशा प्रकारच्या
परिसंवादांची आवश्यकता आहे. शेतकऱ्यांना आधार देण्यासाठी शाश्वत शेतीची गरज असून,
नाविन्याचा अवलंब करून तंत्रज्ञान द्यावे लागेल. यासोबतच एकात्मिक शेतीस
चालना देऊन शेतकऱ्यांना प्रोत्साहन द्यावे. या परिसंवादातून निघालेल्या शिफारशी राज्य
आणि केंद्र शासन अवलंबेल. विद्यापीठ कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता (ए.आय.) आधारित तंत्रज्ञान
विकसित करत आहे आणि अनेक शेतकरी त्याचा यशस्वी प्रयोगही करत आहेत. त्यांनी पुढे सांगितले
की, विद्यार्थी उद्योजक बनावेत. स्वतः सेंद्रिय शेतकरी असल्याचा
उल्लेख करून, विद्यार्थ्यांना उद्योजकतेकडे वळण्यासाठी प्रेरित
केले. तसेच, येणारे वर्ष २०२६ हे “आंतराष्ट्रीय
महिला शेतकरी वर्ष” म्हणून साजरे करण्यासाठी वर्षभराचे नियोजन करण्याचे सूचित केले.
त्या म्हणाल्या की, जागतिक स्तरावर भारत तिसरी सर्वात मोठी अर्थव्यवस्था
होऊ शकतो आणि त्यासाठी युवकांमध्ये अपार सामर्थ्य आहे. अन्नसुरक्षा ही आजची महत्त्वाची
समस्या असून, कृषिद्वारे तिचे समाधान साधता येते. यावेळी त्यांनी
राज्य आणि केंद्र शासनाच्या शेतकऱ्यांसाठी राबवल्या जाणाऱ्या विविध कल्याणकारी योजनांची
माहिती दिली. तसेच, महाराष्ट्र चेंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स आणि वसंतराव नाईक
मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठ यांच्यात झालेल्या सामंजस्य कराराचा उल्लेख करताना त्यांनी
सांगितले की, याद्वारे २२ कृषि उत्पादनांवर संशोधन होऊन त्यावर
आधारित प्रक्रिया उद्योग परभणीत उभारले जातील. कृषि संशोधन आणि शेतकऱ्यांच्या सर्वांगीण
विकासासाठी महाराष्ट्र सरकारच्या वतीने सातत्याने प्रोत्साहन देण्याचे आश्वासनही त्यांनी
दिले. या परिसंवादास देशभरातील आंतरराष्ट्रीय दर्जाचे शास्त्रज्ञ उपस्थित आहेत. त्यांच्या
ज्ञानाचा लाभ महाराष्ट्रातील शेतकऱ्यांच्या प्रगतीसाठी नक्कीच होईल, अशी आशा त्यांनी व्यक्त केली.
माननीय कुलगुरू प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि यांनी सांगितले की, माननीय राज्यपाल महोदय,
महाराष्ट्राचे कृषिमंत्री तसेच कृषि राज्यमंत्री यांनी शुभेच्छा पाठवल्या
आहेत. तसेच, माननीय राज्यमंत्री ना. श्रीमती मेघना साकोरे-बोर्डीकर
यांच्या सूचनांचा अवलंब करण्याचे आश्वासन त्यांनी दिले. ते पुढे म्हणाले की,
महाराष्ट्र हे कृषि विकासाच्या दृष्टीने देशात अग्रगण्य असून, देशातील पहिले महाविस्तार ॲप विकसित करण्यासाठी ५०० कोटी रुपये आणि विद्यापीठात
हवामान संशोधनासाठी एक कोटी रुपयांचा प्रकल्प मंजूर करून शेतकऱ्यांना आधुनिक तंत्रज्ञान
वेळेत उपलब्ध करून देण्यासाठी महाराष्ट्र शासनाने मोठा निधी दिला आहे. याबद्दल त्यांनी
शासनाचे आभार मानले. विद्यापीठाने विकसित केलेल्या ‘गोदावरी’
तुरीच्या वाणाची माहिती देताना त्यांनी सांगितले की, अशा वाणांबरोबरच
हवामान- अनुकूल तंत्रज्ञान विकसित करून शेतकऱ्यांना सक्षम केले जाणार आहे. तसेच,
एकात्मिक शेतीसाठी कृषि, फळबाग आणि पशुसंवर्धन
यांचे यात्रिसूत्री अवलंबन गरजेचे असल्याचेही त्यांनी स्पष्ट केले. शेती विकासासाठी
सात महत्त्वपूर्ण साधनांची आवश्यकता असून, त्यामध्ये सर्वात महत्त्वाचे
साधन म्हणजे मनुष्यबळ आहे. या दृष्टीने अधिक कार्य करणे गरजेचे असल्याचे त्यांनी अधोरेखित
केले. आपल्याला कृषिप्रधान देशातून शेतकरीप्रधान देशाकडे वाटचाल करायची आहे. त्यासाठी
विद्यापीठ ‘शेतकरी देवो भव:’ या भावनेतून कार्यरत आहे. शेतकरी देखील शास्त्रज्ञच आहेत,
त्यांच्या ज्ञानाचा संशोधनासाठी उपयोग करून घेणे आवश्यक आहे. याबरोबरच
शेतकऱ्यांच्या कल्याणासाठी शैक्षणिक प्रणाली, उद्योजकता आणि शासन
यांचा समन्वय महत्त्वाचा असल्याचे त्यांनी स्पष्ट केले. उद्योजकतेला चालना देण्यासाठी
विद्यापीठाची बायोमिक्स आणि बायो-फर्टीलायझर सारखी उत्पादने महत्त्वाची ठरणार आहेत.
ही उत्पादने शेतकऱ्यांमध्ये अतिशय लोकप्रिय असून, फक्त जुलै
२०२५ महिन्यातच सुमारे २ कोटी १० लाख रुपयांची विक्री झाल्याचे त्यांनी नमूद केले.
माजी उपमहासंचालक (शिक्षण) डॉ. आर. सी. अग्रवाल यांनी शाश्वत शेतीसाठी केवळ
शेतीपुरते नव्हे तर मानव संसाधन विकासालाही तितकाच प्राधान्य देणे आवश्यक असल्याचे
प्रतिपादन केले. २०४७ मध्ये विकसित भारत घडवायचा असल्यास त्यासाठीचा ब्ल्यू प्रिंट
महत्त्वाचा आहे आणि त्यामध्ये मानव संसाधनाची अनन्यसाधारण भूमिका आहे, असे त्यांनी स्पष्ट
केले. यासाठी नाहेप प्रकल्पांतर्गत मोठ्या प्रमाणावर कार्य करण्यात आले असून,
त्यातून भविष्यात सक्षम शास्त्रज्ञ घडतील असा विश्वास त्यांनी व्यक्त
केला. या प्रकल्पाचे कार्य पुढे सुरू ठेवण्यासाठी महाराष्ट्र शासनाने निधी उपलब्ध करून
प्रोत्साहन द्यावे, अशी विनंतीही त्यांनी यावेळी केली. लोकसंख्येमध्ये
सातत्याने वाढ होत असल्याने नैसर्गिक साधनसंपत्तीवर प्रचंड दबाव येत आहे. वाढत्या लोकसंख्येला
धान्यपुरवठा सुनिश्चित करण्यासाठी अचूक शेती (Precision Farming) अवलंबावी लागेल. यासाठी भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद आणि देशातील सर्व कृषि
विद्यापीठे सातत्याने नाविन्यपूर्ण संशोधन करत असल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले.
माननीय कुलगुरू तथा संघाचे महासचिव डॉ. एम. एस. चौहान यांनी सांगितले की शेती
उद्योगातील सध्याच्या समस्या आणि अडचणींवर मात करण्यासाठी आधुनिक तंत्रज्ञानाची गरज
आहे. यासाठी भारतीय कृषि विद्यापीठे संघाकडून परिसंवाद, कुलगुरू परिषदा आणि
बैठका आयोजित करून शासनास शिफारशी दिल्या जातात. त्यांनी पुढे नमूद केले की,
देशातील ८० टक्के शेतकरी हे सीमांत शेतकरी असून त्यांची स्थिती पूर्वी
जशी होती तशीच आजही आहे. आपण अन्नधान्य उत्पादनात उच्चांकी आहोत, मात्र शेतकऱ्यांची आर्थिक स्थिती सुधारणे अत्यावश्यक आहे. या परिसंवादातून
शासनाच्या नियोजन प्रक्रियेत अवलंबण्यासाठी तीन-चार महत्त्वपूर्ण शिफारशी दिल्या जातील,
ज्यातून शेतकऱ्यांची उन्नती साधली जाईल, असे त्यांनी
स्पष्ट केले.
लोणेरे येथील डॉक्टर बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर तंत्रज्ञान विद्यापीठाचे माननीय कुलगुरू
डॉ. कारभारी काळे यांनीही शाश्वत विकासासाठी तंत्रज्ञानाच्या विकासाचे महत्त्व अधोरेखित
केले. शेती उत्पादनात कृत्रिम (संकरित वाणांद्वारे) वाढीपेक्षा उत्पादनातील पोषणमूल्यांना
प्राधान्य द्यावे, तसेच पारंपरिक अन्नधान्यातील घटक जपले जावेत. यासाठी सर्वांनी संशोधनाची दिशा
धरावी, असे मत त्यांनी व्यक्त केले.
एनडीआरआयचे माननीय कुलगुरू डॉ. धीर सिंह यांनी सांगितले की कृषि विद्यापीठाने
केलेल्या महत्त्वपूर्ण संशोधनामुळे देशात कृषि क्रांती घडली. दूध उत्पादनात मोठ्या
प्रमाणात वाढ झाली आहे. ज्वारीचा परभणी शक्ती, तुरीचा गोदावरी वाण आणि बायोमिक्ससारखी
दर्जेदार उत्पादने हीच विद्यापीठाची खरी देशपातळीवरील ओळख असून, यामुळे विद्यापीठाला
अनेक मानांकनांसह ‘अ’ दर्जा प्राप्त झाला आहे. भविष्यात या उत्पादनांसाठी मोठी विक्री
केंद्रे विद्यापीठात आणि शहरात उभारली जावीत, ज्यायोगे विद्यापीठातील
विद्यार्थ्यांसह मराठवाड्यात उद्योजकतेला चालना मिळेल. अशा कार्यातून हे विद्यापीठ
राष्ट्रीय स्तरावर क्रमांक एकचे बनेल, अशी आशा त्यांनी व्यक्त
केली. यावेळी त्यांनी शाश्वत शेतीसाठी यांत्रिकीकरणाचे महत्त्व अधोरेखित केले. तसेच
‘विकसित कृषि संकल्प’ अभियानातून उभारण्यात आलेल्या कार्याचा आढावा घेतला. देशात अन्नधान्य
मुबलक असूनही भूकबळी समस्या जाणवते. दर्जेदार कृषि उत्पादने उत्पादन आणि पुरवठ्यासाठी
या परिसंवादात महत्त्वपूर्ण चर्चा होईल, असे त्यांनी सांगितले.
प्रगतशील शेतकरी श्री. चंद्रकांत दादा वरपूडकर यांनी देशभरातील अनेक कृषि विद्यापीठांचा
२५ वर्षांचा अनुभव सांगून, वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठाद्वारे माननीय कुलगुरू प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र
मणि यांच्या नेतृत्वाखाली शेतकऱ्यांना मिळणाऱ्या सहकार्याबद्दल माहिती दिली. तसेच,
सध्या मजूर टंचाई आणि वातावरणातील बदल यांचा शेतीवर मोठा परिणाम होत
असला तरी फळबागेवर तो तुलनेने कमी जाणवतो. म्हणूनच शेतकऱ्यांनी फळबागेकडे वळावे,
असे आवाहन त्यांनी केले.
उद्घाटन समारंभास देशभरातील विविध विद्यापीठांचे कुलगुरू उपस्थित होते.

The 17th National Symposium of the Indian Agricultural Universities Association was grandly inaugurated at Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University.
Such symposiums are necessary to find solutions to problems arising due to climate change… said the Hon’ble State Minister and Guardian Minister, Smt. Meghna Sakore-Bordikar.
Through this symposium, important recommendations will be provided to the government for the 80% of marginal farmers in the country.
A two-day 17th National Symposium of the Indian Agricultural Universities Association (IAUA) was organized on September 25–26, 2025, jointly by Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani, and the Indian Agricultural Universities Association, New Delhi, in coordination with a total of 74 agricultural universities across India. The theme of the symposium is “Farm Mechanization and Agricultural Robotics for Small and Marginal Farmers: Challenges and Opportunities.” The inaugural ceremony of the symposium was held on September 25, 2025.
The inauguration of this symposium was graced by the Hon’ble State Minister, Public Health and Family Welfare, Water Supply and Sanitation, Energy, Women and Child Development, Public Works (Public Undertakings) and Guardian Minister of Parbhani District, Smt. Meghna Sakore-Bordikar. The ceremony was presided over by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani. On this occasion, the Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly and Executive Council Member, Smt. Sreejaya Chavan, extended her greetings virtually.
On the dais, the prominent attendees included: the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, and Secretary of the Indian Agricultural Universities Association (IAUA), Dr. M. S. Chauhan; Dr. Karbhari Kale, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere (Raigad District); Dr. Dheer Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of NDRI, Karnal; Dr. R. C. Agrawal, former Deputy Director of the Education Division of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR); Executive Council member of MCAER, Mr. Janardan Katakde; University Director of Instruction, Dr. Bhagwan Asewar; Comptroller, Mr. Anant Kadam; University Engineer, Mr. Deepak Kashalkar; Secretary of IAUA, Mr. Dinesh Kumar; progressive farmer Mr. Chandrakant Varpudkar; and coordinators Dr. Rahul Ramteke, Dr. Sachin More, Dr. Madan Pendke, among others.
At the inauguration ceremony, the Hon’ble Minister of State and Guardian Minister of Parbhani, Smt. Meghana Sakore-Bordikar, stated that she views university students as progressive farmers and scientists, and that this should also be the objective of the university. She added that the effects of climate change are being felt across the country, with heavy rainfall causing significant crop losses. To find solutions to these problems, such symposiums are necessary. She emphasized the need for sustainable agriculture to support farmers and stated that technology should be provided by adopting innovation. Along with this, integrated farming should be promoted to encourage farmers. The recommendations emerging from this symposium will be adopted by the state and central governments. The Hon’ble Minister highlighted that the university is developing Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technologies, and many farmers are successfully implementing them. She further encouraged students to become entrepreneurs, citing her own experience as an organic farmer to motivate them towards entrepreneurship. She also suggested planning throughout the year to celebrate 2026 as the “International Year of Women Farmers.” She remarked that India could become the third-largest economy globally and that the youth have immense potential. Food security is a critical issue today, and agriculture can provide its solution. She also provided information about various welfare schemes being implemented by the state and central governments for farmers. While referring to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce and Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University, she mentioned that it will enable research on 22 agricultural products and the establishment of processing industries in Parbhani based on this research. She assured that the Maharashtra government will continuously support agricultural research and the holistic development of farmers. The symposium is attended by internationally renowned scientists from across the country, and she expressed hope that their expertise will benefit the progress of farmers in Maharashtra.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani stated that the Hon’ble Governor, the Agriculture Minister of Maharashtra, and the Agriculture Minister of State have sent their greetings. He also assured that the instructions of Hon’ble State Minister, Smt. Meghna Sakore-Bordikar, would be duly followed. He further mentioned that Maharashtra is a leader in agricultural development in the country. To make the country’s first “Mahavistar” app, a project with a fund of Rs 500 crore has been approved, and a project with Rs 1 crore has been sanctioned for climate research at the university, enabling farmers to access modern technology in a timely manner. He expressed gratitude to the state government for this support.
While sharing information about the ‘Godavari’ variety of pigeon pea developed by the university, he mentioned that along with such varieties, climate-resilient technologies are being developed to empower farmers. He also emphasized the need to adopt integrated farming practices involving agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry. For agricultural development, seven essential resources are required, among which the most important is human resources. He underlined the need to work more in this area. He stressed that the aim is to transition from an agriculture-dominated country to a farmer-centered country, and the university is working with the ethos of “Shatakari Devo Bhava” (Treat the farmer as God). Farmers are also scientists; their knowledge must be leveraged for research.
He further stated that for farmers’ welfare, coordination between the education system, entrepreneurship, and governance is crucial. To promote entrepreneurship, university-developed products such as Biomix and Bio-Fertilizers will play a key role. These products have become extremely popular among farmers, and in July 2025 alone, sales reached approximately Rs 2.10 crore.
Former Deputy Director General (Education) Hon’ble Dr. R. C. Agrawal emphasized that for sustainable agriculture, human resource development is as important as agriculture itself. For Viksit Bharat 2047, a blueprint is essential, in which human resources will play an extraordinary role. Significant work has been carried out under the NAHEP projects, which will help develop competent scientists in the future. He requested that the Maharashtra government continue funding and support for these projects.
He also highlighted that with the continuous increase in population, immense pressure is exerted on natural resources. To ensure sufficient food supply for the growing population, precision farming will need to be adopted. For this purpose, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and all agricultural universities in the country are consistently conducting innovative research.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and Secretary-General of the Association, Dr. M. S. Chauhan, stated that to overcome the current problems and challenges in the agriculture sector, there is a need for modern technology. For this purpose, the Indian Agricultural Universities Association organizes symposiums, Vice-Chancellors’ conferences, and meetings to provide recommendations to the government. He further noted that 80% of the country’s farmers are marginal farmers, and their situation today remains much the same as it was earlier. While we rank high in food grain production, improving the economic condition of farmers is essential. From this symposium, three to four key recommendations will be provided for incorporation into government planning processes, which will help in improving the welfare of farmers, he clarified.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Karbhari Kale also emphasized the importance of technological development for sustainable development. He stated that, in agriculture, priority should be given to the nutritional quality of production rather than artificial (hybrid) yield increases, and traditional components of food grains should be preserved. He urged everyone to focus research in this direction.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Dheer Singh stated that significant research by agricultural universities has brought about an agricultural revolution in the country. Milk production has increased significantly. Quality products such as Parbhani Shakti (sorghum), Godavari variety of pigeon pea, and Biomix represent the true national-level identity of VNMKV. This has earned the universities several accreditations and an ‘A’ grade. In the future, large sales centers, for these products should be established within the universities and in cities, which will promote entrepreneurship among students as well as in the Marathwada region. He expressed hope that through such initiatives, the university will become number one at the national level.
He also highlighted the importance of mechanization for sustainable agriculture and reviewed the work carried out under the “Vikasit Krishi Snkalp Abhiyan.” Despite the abundance of food grains in the country, hunger persists. The symposium will include significant discussions on the production and supply of quality agricultural products.
Progressive farmer Mr. Chandrakant Dada Varpudkar shared his 25 years of experience across various agricultural universities in the country and highlighted the support farmers receive under the leadership of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani through Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University. He also noted that although labour shortages and climate change currently have a significant impact on agriculture, their effect on orchards is comparatively lower. Therefore, he urged farmers to turn their focus toward orchards.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Vice-Chancellors from various universities across the country. In the introductory remarks, the organizer of the symposium and Director of Education Dr. Bhagwan Asewar provided information about the event and presented an overview of the university’s activities. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Secretary of the Association of Indian Agricultural Universities. The program was conducted by Dr. Veena Bhalerao. The event was attended by All Associate Deans, department Heads, Professors, Scientists, Officers, and students from all Colleges of the Vasntrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth.
