वनामकृवि व वेस्टर्न सिडनी विद्यापीठामध्ये आंतरराष्ट्रीय शैक्षणिक सहकार्यासाठी सामंजस्य करार

वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठ, परभणी आणि वेस्टर्न सिडनी विद्यापीठ, ऑस्ट्रेलिया  यांच्यात उच्च शिक्षणाच्या आंतरराष्ट्रीयीकरणास चालना देण्यासाठी, तसेच दुहेरी पदवी आणि संयुक्त संशोधन (Dual/Joint Higher Degree by Research) कार्यक्रमाच्या अंमलबजावणीसाठी पाच वर्षांच्या कालावधीचा व्यापक सामंजस्य करार (MoU) दिनांक ९ डिसेंबर २०२५ रोजी स्वाक्षरीत करण्यात आला. हा करार स्वाक्षरीत होताच दोन्ही संस्थांमध्ये संशोधन सहकार्याच्या नव्या पर्वाला सुरुवात झाली आहे.

या करारावर वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठाचे माननीय कुलगुरू प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि आणि वेस्टर्न सिडनी विद्यापीठातील प्राधिकृत प्रतिनिधी प्रा. देबोराह स्वीन्ये यांनी स्वाक्षरी केली. या महत्वपूर्ण करारामुळे विद्यार्थी, संशोधक आणि प्राध्यापकांसाठी नव्या संधींचा मार्ग मोकळा झाला.

करारानुसार, दोन्ही विद्यापीठे एकत्रितपणे दुहेरी पदवी आणि संयुक्त पीएच.डी. कार्यक्रम, विद्यार्थी आणि प्राध्यापक देवाणघेवाण, संयुक्त संशोधन प्रकल्प, आधुनिक संशोधन सुविधा व प्रयोगशाळांचा परस्पर वापर, आंतरराष्ट्रीय मार्गदर्शन यांसारख्या उपक्रमांची अंमलबजावणी करतील.

करारात विद्यार्थ्यांच्या प्रवेश प्रक्रिया, निवासी कालावधी, संशोधन पायाभूत सुविधा, अनुशासन आणि नैतिकता, परीक्षा पद्धती, बौद्धिक संपदा हक्क, शिष्यवृत्ती, शुल्क संरचना, तसेच इतर शैक्षणिक बाबींचे स्पष्ट नियम समाविष्ट करण्यात आले आहेत. या करारामध्ये जागतिक शिक्षण मानकांचे पालन तसेच भारतातील विद्यापीठ अनुदान आयोग (UGC) नियम आणि ऑस्ट्रेलियातील उच्च शिक्षण मानक आराखडा (Higher Education Standards Framework) यांचा सुसंगत विचार करण्यात आला आहे.

या सामंजस्य करारामुळे वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठातील संशोधन विद्यार्थ्यांना जगातील अत्याधुनिक संशोधन पद्धती, जागतिक दर्जाचे मार्गदर्शन आणि आंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रकाशात येणार असल्याचे माननीय कुलगुरू प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि यांनी सांगितले. पुढे ते म्हणाले की, आधुनिक कृषि, हवामान बदल, अन्न-तंत्रज्ञान, पर्यावरण, जैवतंत्रज्ञान इत्यादी क्षेत्रांमध्ये उन्नत संशोधनाला चालना देण्यासाठी हा करार मार्गदर्शक ठरेल.

वेस्टर्न सिडनी विद्यापीठाच्या प्रतिनिधी प्रा. देबोराह स्वीन्ये यांनी सांगितले की, हा उपक्रम भारत-ऑस्ट्रेलिया शैक्षणिक संबंध दृढ करण्यासोबतच नवीन संशोधन निर्मितीस हातभार लावेल. विद्यार्थ्यांनी परस्पर विद्यापीठांमध्ये ठराविक कालावधीसाठी संशोधन करणे, संयुक्त मार्गदर्शनाखाली प्रबंध तयार करणे आणि दोन्ही विद्यापीठांकडून पदवी प्राप्त करणे ही या कराराची महत्त्वपूर्ण वैशिष्ट्ये आहेत.

या सहकार्यातून मराठवाड्यासह राज्यातील विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी उच्च दर्जाचे आंतरराष्ट्रीय शिक्षण, संशोधन आणि करिअर विकासाच्या संधी मोठ्या प्रमाणावर उपलब्ध होणार असल्याची माहिती शिक्षण व संशोधन क्षेत्रातून देण्यात येत आहे.

MoU for International Academic Collaboration Between VNMKV and Western Sydney University

New boost to dual degrees, student exchange, and joint research programmes… Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani

A comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 9 December 2025 between Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani, and Western Sydney University, Australia. The objective of this MoU is to promote the internationalization of higher education, as well as dual degree and to implement joint research (Dual/Joint Higher Degree by Research) programmes. With the signing of this agreement, a new chapter of research collaboration between the two institutions has officially begun.

The MoU was signed by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of VNMKV, Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani, and Prof. Deborah Sweeney, the authorized representative of Western Sydney University. This significant agreement has opened new avenues of opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty members.

According to the agreement, both universities will jointly implement dual degree and joint Ph.D. programmes, student and faculty exchange, collaborative research projects, mutual access to advanced research facilities and laboratories, international mentoring, and several other initiatives.

The MoU includes clear provisions regarding student admission processes, residency requirements, research infrastructure, discipline and ethics, examination procedures, intellectual property rights, scholarships, fee structures, and other academic matters. The agreement has been aligned with global education standards while ensuring compliance with the University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations in India and the Higher Education Standards Framework in Australia.

Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani stated that this collaboration will provide research students of VNMKV with exposure to world-class research methods, global-level guidance, and international recognition. He further added that the MoU will serve as a guiding framework for advancing research in modern agriculture, climate change, food technology, environment, biotechnology, and related fields.

Prof. Deborah Sweeney, representative of Western Sydney University, said that this initiative will strengthen India–Australia educational relations and contribute to the creation of new research. The major features of the MoU include students carrying out a part of their research at each other’s institutions, preparing dissertations under joint supervision, and receiving degrees awarded by both universities.

This collaboration is expected to provide high-quality international education, research exposure, and career development opportunities to students from Marathwada as well as across the state, according to academic and research experts.
