वनामकृविचे माननीय कुलगुरू प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि यांना ‘बेस्ट व्हाईस-चान्सलर अवॉर्ड-२०२५’

 कृषि शिक्षण, संशोधन, नवोन्मेष, विस्तार व शेतकरी-केंद्रित तंत्रज्ञानातील उल्लेखनीय योगदानाची दखल

वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठ, परभणीचे माननीय कुलगुरू प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि यांना कृषि शिक्षण, संशोधन, नवोन्मेष, विस्तार शिक्षण तसेच शेतकरी-केंद्रित तंत्रज्ञानाच्या प्रसारातील उल्लेखनीय योगदानाबद्दल ‘बेस्ट व्हाईस-चान्सलर अवॉर्ड-२०२५’ या राष्ट्रीय पुरस्काराने सन्मानित करण्यात आले.

ऑल इंडिया ॲग्रीकल्चरल स्टुडंट्स असोसिएशन (एआयएएसए - AIASA) यांच्या वतीने प्रदान करण्यात आलेला हा पुरस्कार ‘५व्या आंतरराष्ट्रीय ऑरगॅनिक अँड नॅचरल राईस प्रॉडक्शन सिस्टिम्स (ORP-5)’ या आंतरराष्ट्रीय परिषदेच्या उद्घाटन सत्रात सोमवार, दि. २१ सप्टेंबर २०२६ रोजी लक्ष्मीपत सिंघानिया सभागृह, नवी दिल्ली येथे प्रदान करण्यात आला. या परिषदेसाठी ऑल इंडिया ॲग्रीकल्चरल स्टुडंट्स असोसिएशन, युनिव्हर्सिटी ऑफ ॲग्रिकल्चरल सायन्सेस, रायचूर आणि इंडोनेशिया येथील आयपीबी विद्यापीठ (IPB University, Indonesia) हे आयोजक सहभागी आहेत.

हा सन्मान माजी केंद्रीय राज्यमंत्री, मानव संसाधन विकास व जलसंसाधने मंत्रालय; नदी विकास व गंगा पुनरुज्जीवन तथा प्रमुख पाहुणे माननीय डॉ. सत्यपाल सिंह, इम्फाळ येथील केंद्रीय कृषी विद्यापीठाचे माजी कुलगुरू पद्मभूषण प्रा. (डॉ.) आर. बी. सिंह, आयोजन समिती अध्यक्ष प्रा. (डॉ.) सहदेव सिंह, एआयएएसएचे राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष श्री. निनाद महाजन, रायचूर कृषी विज्ञान विद्यापीठाचे शिक्षण संचालक डॉ. गुरुराज सुंकड,  निमॅटोलॉजी विभागाचे प्रमुख डॉ. पंकज, ORP-5 चे आंतरराष्ट्रीय संयोजक प्रा. (डॉ.) स्टेफानो बोच्ची, जपान येथील तोहोकू विद्यापीठाचे प्राध्यापक प्रा. (डॉ.) मिजुहिको निशिदा, AIASA चे आधारस्थंभ डॉ. आर. पी. सिंह, संरक्षक, ORP-5 चे आयोजन सचिव प्रा. वाय. व्ही. सिंह आदी मान्यवरांच्या हस्ते प्रदान करण्यात आला.

पुरस्काराच्या प्रशस्तीपत्रात प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि यांच्या उत्कृष्ट नेतृत्वाबरोबरच कृषि शिक्षण, संशोधन, नवोन्मेष आणि विस्तार क्षेत्रातील योगदानाची विशेष दखल घेण्यात आली आहे. त्यांच्या नेतृत्वाखाली ड्रोन तंत्रज्ञान, कृषि यांत्रिकीकरण, शेतकरी-केंद्रित तंत्रज्ञान आणि देशभर तंत्रज्ञान हस्तांतरणाला चालना मिळाल्याचे नमूद करण्यात आले आहे. तसेच संस्थात्मक विकास, संशोधन भागीदारी, पायाभूत सुविधांचा विकास, आंतरराष्ट्रीय सहकार्य आणि कॉर्पोरेट सामाजिक दायित्वाच्या (CSR) माध्यमातून मिळविलेला भरीव निधी यामध्ये त्यांच्या नेतृत्वाची प्रशंसा करण्यात आली आहे. विद्यापीठाच्या २,००० एकरांपेक्षा अधिक पडीक जमिनीचे उत्पादक कृषि क्षेत्रात रूपांतर करण्याच्या कार्याचीही प्रशस्तीपत्रात विशेष नोंद घेण्यात आली आहे.

या आंतरराष्ट्रीय परिषदेत सेंद्रिय तांदूळ उत्पादन प्रणालीसाठी कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्तेवर आधारित यांत्रिकीकरण आणि डिजिटल बुद्धिमत्ता  (AI-Driven Mechanisation and Digital Intelligence for Organic Rice Production Systems)’ या थीम VII वरील तांत्रिक सत्राच्या अध्यक्षपदाची जबाबदारीही प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि यांनी भूषविली. या सत्रात सेंद्रिय तांदूळ उत्पादन प्रणालीमध्ये कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता, कृषि यांत्रिकीकरण, डिजिटल तंत्रज्ञान, अचूक शेती आणि आधुनिक तंत्रज्ञानाचा वापर यासंदर्भात विविध विषयांवर तज्ज्ञांनी चर्चा केली.

प्रा. (डॉ.) इन्द्र मणि यांच्या नेतृत्वाखाली वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठामध्ये कृषि शिक्षण, संशोधन, विस्तार शिक्षण, डिजिटल कृषि, हवामान-स्मार्ट कृषि, कृषि यांत्रिकीकरण आणि शेतकरी-केंद्रित तंत्रज्ञान यांना विशेष चालना देण्यात येत आहे. त्यांच्या या कार्याची राष्ट्रीय स्तरावर दखल घेत ‘बेस्ट व्हाईस-चान्सलर अवॉर्ड-२०२५’ हा सन्मान प्राप्त झाल्याने वसंतराव नाईक मराठवाडा कृषि विद्यापीठाच्या लौकिकात आणखी भर पडली आहे.

VNMKV Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani Conferred with the ‘Best Vice-Chancellor Award-2025’

Recognition of Outstanding Contributions to Agricultural Education, Research, Innovation, Extension and Farmer-Centric Technologies

Hon’ble Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani, Vice-Chancellor of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University (VNMKV), Parbhani, has been conferred with the national-level ‘Best Vice-Chancellor Award-2025’ in recognition of his outstanding contributions to agricultural education, research, innovation, extension education and the dissemination of farmer-centric technologies.

The award, presented by the All India Agricultural Students Association (AIASA), was conferred during the inaugural session of the 5th International Conference on Organic and Natural Rice Production Systems (ORP-5) on Monday, September 21, 2026 at Lakshmipat Singhania Auditorium, New Delhi. The conference is being jointly organized by the All India Agricultural Students Association, the University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur, and IPB University, Indonesia.

The award was presented by the distinguished dignitaries, including Hon’ble Dr. Satyapal Singh, former Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, and Chief Guest; Padma Bhushan Prof. (Dr.) R. B. Singh, former Vice-Chancellor of Central Agricultural University, Imphal; Prof. (Dr.) Sahadev Singh, Chairman of the Organizing Committee; Shri Ninad Mahajan, National President of AIASA; Dr. Gururaj Sunkad, Director of Education, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur; Dr. Pankaj, Head of the Department of Nematology; Prof. (Dr.) Stefano Bocchi, International Coordinator, ORP-5; Prof. (Dr.) Mizuhiko Nishida, Professor at Tohoku University, Japan; Dr. R. P. Singh, a founding pillar of AIASA; and Prof. Y. V. Singh, Patron and Organizing Secretary of ORP-5, among other dignitaries.

The citation accompanying the award specifically recognizes Hon’ble Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani’s outstanding leadership and contributions to agricultural education, research, innovation and extension. It states that, under his leadership, initiatives in drone technology, agricultural mechanization, farmer-centric technologies and technology transfer across the country have received significant impetus. His leadership in institutional development, research partnerships, infrastructure development, international collaborations and mobilization of substantial funds through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has also been commended. The citation further makes special mention of his efforts in transforming more than 2,000 acres of fallow university land into productive agricultural land.

At the international conference, Hon’ble Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani also chaired Technical Session VII on the theme “AI-Driven Mechanisation and Digital Intelligence for Organic Rice Production Systems.” During the session, experts discussed various aspects of the use of artificial intelligence, agricultural mechanization, digital technologies, precision agriculture and modern technologies in organic rice production systems.

Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University has been giving special impetus to agricultural education, research, extension education, digital agriculture, climate-smart agriculture, agricultural mechanization and farmer-centric technologies. The recognition of these efforts at the national level through the conferment of the ‘Best Vice-Chancellor Award-2025’ has further enhanced the prestige of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University.

On receiving this prestigious award, Hon’ble Prof. (Dr.) Indra Mani has been congratulated by the university’s officers, directors, deans, scientists, faculty members, employees and students, as well as various stakeholders associated with the agricultural sector.
